Editorial policy
Modern Lifestyle Guide aims to make home design easier to read. We distinguish considered explanation from personal preference, describe the limits of a recommendation and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against appropriate information available to us and write so readers can tell the difference between a general design principle, an example and an opinion. Where a detail is uncertain or depends on context, we say so rather than present a universal rule.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for the usefulness and relevance of a story, not to guarantee favourable treatment of a product or partner. Readers can contact us with a correction and identify the passage and the information that may be wrong. We review credible reports and amend material errors with a clear note where appropriate.
Partner material
Paid placements, supplied material and other commercial collaborations are identified clearly where they appear. A partnership does not by itself determine editorial conclusions, and readers should be able to distinguish an advertisement or partner feature from independent editorial coverage.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. We label them when relevant and do not present illustrative imagery as a photograph of a real home, product or completed project.
A room is a composition you live inside
We look beyond the picture-perfect finish to the decisions that shape a room in use: its pathways, proportions, materials and personal details.
